Waterside Lodge

Waterside Lodge is based on Southport’s Marine Lake and as well as being our District Scout Headquarters, providing exciting water and land based activities for our Scouts, we have also made it an Activity Centre for the Community, Schools, Charities, Sea Cadets etc, as well as for Scouting and Guiding from other parts of the Country.

The Centre is run and maintained by our Active Support Unit which mainly comprises of people involved in Scouting who have also become fully qualified Instructors in their chosen field.

The Centre is AALA registered, an RYA Training Centre and BCU affiliated and meets all the required standards for safe and healthy adventures including:-

  • Sailing
  • Bell boating
  • Dragon boating
  • Rafting
  • Power Boating
  • Canoeing
  • Indoor Archery
  • Indoor Air rifle Shooting
  • Traversing Wall
  • Pioneering
The building itself offers Function Rooms, Commercial Kitchens and Dining Rooms, Training Rooms, Shower and Changing facilities and Sleeping Accommodation for up to 44 people. Outside there are Camping and Caravan facilities.

Located within a fully-fenced and secure site, the building has all modern services installed and is accessible to disabled users. It is easily reached on Southport Marine Drive, adjacent to the pier and beach, making it an excellent base for exploring the local area.

Caravan Site

Waterside Lodge is also home to a 10 unit caravan site for use by members of The Scout Association or other caravan/motorhome clubs or associations.

Each pitch on our dedicated field benefits from electric (16amp) hook up, chemical waste and grey water disposal points, and drinking water taps.

Toilet and pay per use shower facilities are available on site.

No tents are allowed.

  • Sun – Thurs – £23 per night
  • Fri-Sat £26 per night
  • Special event weekends £28 per night

Pre booking is required.
